Allison Gioscia is a flutist based in Colorado Springs, CO.  She is a member of the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs, frequently performs with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, and is an avid performer of chamber music, appearing as part of the Gioscia-Groothof Duo (flute/guitar) and Trio Vivante (flute/cello/piano). She is also proud to be of service to the local flute community as a board member of the Colorado Flute Association.


Previously, Allison held the position of Principal Flute with the Orquesta UniNorte (Asunción, Paraguay) during their 2011 and 2012 seasons.  During this time she also served as Professor of Flute at the Universidad Evangélica (CEMTA) in San Lorenzo, Paraguay.


While in Paraguay she appeared twice as concerto soloist with the Orquesta de Cámara Municipal de Asunción, performing Telemann's Triple Concerto in E Major for Flute, Oboe D'amore, and Viola D'amore and C.P.E. Bach's Concerto in D Minor for Flute, Strings, and Continuo.  She also had the privilege to perform as Guest Principal Flute with the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Ciudad de Asunción and as a guest musician with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Paraguay.


In the United States, Allison has performed with such diverse ensembles as the Eclectic Laboratory Chamber Orchestra (Pittsburgh, PA), Opera in the Ozarks (Eureka Springs, AR), and the Nebraska Theatre Caravan (Omaha, NE).


Allison holds a Master of Music degree from Ohio University and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Northern Colorado.  Her primary teachers have included Susanella Noble, Sylvia Greenfield, Nicole Riner, and Jennifer Parker-Harley.
